Sega Mega-CD
Sega CD 1 / 2 Region FREE BIOS W/ Battery Socket
Comes with Region Free BIOS and Socket. Optionally you can add a Battery Socket with battery to the order. Select your System Model as the BIOS Chip selection needs to match your system type. For example: Sega CD Model 1 RF Chip will not work with Sega CD Model 2 BIOS just like a Sega CD Model 2 Chip will not work in a Sega CD Model 1.. Sega CD Model 1 system needs to select Sega CD Model 1 Region Free BIOS – the RF BIOS chips not interchangeable between systems. Professional Installation is recommended. Some Boards are pre-socketed in which the RF Bios is just plug and play, some boards will need to have the old BIOS chip removed, and the new Region Free BIOS installed. Installation instructions are available upon request. Battery replacements will require desoldering old battery and replacement of the new socket.
Sega CD Model 2 – For Parts (no laser unit)
Everything else is still functional however it will not boot without a laser unit attached. Perfect if you have a Sega CD with a motherboard problem and a functioning laser.
